Clearly, it’s space stuff that’s taking up all money that could otherwise go to help people.
We can’t cut the space budget. We need it to launch the billionaires into the sun
At its peak, funding NASA returned 8 dollars to the economy for every dollar it was given and singlehandedly advanced technology by decades. The money doesn’t get launched into space: all the benefits stay here.
THANK
Fuck this “Cut science and art because poor people exist!” bullshit. Make fucking rich people pay their damned taxes. That *ALONE* solves the vast majority of the problems. Make employers hire more people, not keep condensing job duties into more and more single positions (some of us are getting sick of doing the work of three people on barely the salary for one of them). Demand pay rates increase so that EVERYONE with a job makes enough to support themselves. Demand better health care, so that people don’t lose their homes and jobs because someone in their family got fucking cancer, or chronic illness, or severe injury.
Science isn’t the problem. The problem is capitalism and greed.
Not to mention if we were to double the budget for NASA it would allow them to produce more advanced technology that will eventually be ingrained into society. It would allow them to launch more science missions into the solar system, teaching us more about the universe around us and possibly confirming that life exists elsewhere. It would allow them to launch more satellites to study our earth and the effects climate change is having on our planet, or provide additional services or technology to you and me and every other person on the planet. It would allow human to explore our solar system again, and go back to the moon. It would provide NASA more money to get kids involved in science.
Giving more money to NASA is nothing but beneficial not just to the United States, but humanity as a whole, because it furthers our understanding of science, the universe around us, and provides the ability to develop more advanced technology that normal citizens (who make up almost ALL of NASA) can use and benefit from.
Giving more money to the military gives us more dead people and better technology to wage war.
Increase funds for science by taking it from the military. Humanity will thank us later
jane fonda got arrested the third week in a row at climate change protests. this time with ted danson
Legends only
For everyone complaining about how these two can get arrested and it won’t affect their careers, you’re right. It most likely won’t hurt their careers. That’s why they keep going out and doing it. They’re using their platform to their advantage. They’re both white, of an older generation, and famous enough to be recognized. They’re holding their generation accountable and making an effort to show up and enforce change. This isn’t them advertising a TV show or some bs, they’re there to help
Recognizing you privilege isnt about feeling bad for things you can’t control, it’s about using your privilege to help those without it. This is what that looks like.
hardened Mandalorian warriors really see any distressed, abandoned child and say ‘is anybody gonna take care of that’ and then not wait for an answer huh
